The Girdwood Mountain Bike Alliance was formed in 2016 out of a need for single-use mountain bike trails in Glacier Valley.  Mountain biking is an exceptionally fast-growing sport, especially in Alaska.  While our community is lucky to have a chairlift-accessed bike park, we still lack free-access mountain bike trails.  Our limited hiking trails are becoming over-crowded through the shared use of hikers and bikers, creating a safety hazard for each user group.  Through responsible trail construction and maintenance, we strive to make the sport more accessible to Girdwood's residents and visitors alike.  Our goal is to continue helping Girdwood becoming a better place to live, work and play.

Our Mission

To develop and support opportunities for mountain biking by building and maintaining trails, promoting responsible trail use and advocating for cycling in our community.
